Brussels has threatened to exclude the UK from the Galileo project, a rival/alternative to America’s GPS satellite navigation system.
This shows just how small-minded and vindictive these people are, as if that wasn’t clear enough already. The UK has contributed 12% of the funding so far so if we can’t use it we should dock a billion euros or so off the Brexit bill to start with.
The UK and France have the only serious defence capabilities in the EU so excluding either is mad. It also makes nonsense of Theresa May’s expressed intention to maintain strong security links with the EU after we leave. It is likely that France is behind this and wants to take over Britain’s space and satellite contributions, just as it wants to take business from the City.
